South East Auckland

House and Location:

Maraetai, South East Auckland. “Marae-tai” means meeting place by the sea - our home has panoramic sea, city and farm views with many sandy beaches, walks and reserves close by.  We have a two storey, near new, warm home with a filtered air system on a no exit street.  On the ground level there are two spacious guest bedrooms with views to choose from, a guest bathroom and semi self contained area including kitchenette, lounge and dining area.  For use by guests there is also a ground floor patio off the sea view room and the downstairs lounge with it’s own outdoor furniture. The hosts are usually home and reside upstairs. Accommodation $250 per night + food. Minimum 2 night stay. Food arrangements and any dietary requirements to be discussed with the host and charges vary depending on requirements.

‍Accessibility:
Flat entry and a small step only near the front door with wheel chair access through the garage.  All doors and hallways are disability width, the bathroom can be fitted out with any required disability aids as mentioned in accessibility”below. There is a lift between the ground floor and first floor as well as stairs. There is street parking for your vehicle.

Accommodation:

We have the choice of two spacious rooms 4.5m x 3.2m each with a queen bed, bedside tables, lounging chair, heater and fitted out wardrobe.  One room overlooks the back garden and has a sea view and the other room a farm view across the street where horses roam.

 Bathroom:

Adjacent to the bedroom you will find a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, toilet, vanity and cupboard/draw space.  Grab rail provided together with a shower stool and raised disability toilet seat unit as required.

Facilities:

The downstair level has its own semi self contained kitchenette, dining and lounge area including a dishwasher and fridge.  The lounge has a comfortable three seater couch and armchair, as well as a big screen smart TV for guests use.  You are welcome to privacy in the downstairs area or to join us upstairs for meals and company. We have a laundry available including a dryer.  All rooms have wired internet access and free Wifi. There are phone charging points in the bedrooms and lounge.

Host Presence:

We run a business and work from a home office which is also located on the ground floor so are around most of the time.  You can decide how you want to spend your time and are welcome to interact with us as much or as little as you would like to. We can offer all cooked meals as required and can provide for various dietary requirements.‍

Pet Information:

‍We do not have any pets and don’t offer pet care.
