Our House

Our house is in a quiet street in Stratford,Taranaki.  It is a single-storey house with no steps and you can drive up to the front door.  Parking is also available on site.  It is a townhouse with a lovely fully fenced private garden which you can enjoy at any time. We charge $215.00 a day accommodation. Food to be discussed.

Accessibility:

‍The entrance to our home is flat with no stairs anywhere in the property.  The lovely garden is just a step out of the patio doors in the second lounge.  Garden furniture is there for your use and you can enjoy your meals outside at the dining table and chairs if you would like to.

Accommodation:

Our bedroom has two single beds and ample storage in the wardrobe and bedside cabinet.  We have new mattresses and bases on the beds and they are super comfortable.  Extra blankets or patchwork quilts are available on request from the hosts.  Next to the bedroom is your own private toilet and separate bathroom with heating.  A bath is also available should you prefer it.  Fresh towels are provided every day for your personal use.  The house has solar power and this means that either heating or air conditioning can be used at any time.

Bathroom:

Your private bathroom contains a walk in shower which has a 3cm-tall edge for easy entry.  A bath is is also there for your use if you prefer it?  The bathroom is roomy and a walking frame could easily be accommodated in this room.  There are no grab bars in the bathroom currently.

Facilities:

Our whole house is available for you to use and enjoy.  There are two lounges.  The smaller one at the front is sunny and bright and an ideal space to have your breakfast in.  The dining room is spacious and inviting.  There is also a large breakfast bar if you prefer that for your meals.  We often use our outdoor space in the garden for meals.  The large lounge is where you can watch television comfortably.  Laziboy recliners are available and there is a fireplace which we use during the winter every dqy.  Wifi is also available for you to use and Netflixs and Disney Channels are there for your entertainment and relaxation.

Host Presence:

Joanne is home all day apart from trips into town for shopping.  Doug will be home for lunch with you.  You are welcome to suit yourself during the day and relax in either of the lounges or the garden.  You can rest during the day, have an afternoon nap or surf the Internet or watch television.  Joanne is happy to discuss your meals with you and is happy to meet your dietary requirements if you have any particular likes or wants.

Pet Information, or other the guest needs to be aware of

You will get to meet Toby, our five year old Bishon Frise dog.  He loves people and will cosy up to you very quickly.  He loves a fuss but is also happy to be ignored.  With very little encouragement he will happily tell you where the family jewels are hidden.
